Charlie's First Snow

October 26, 2011
It's not even Halloween and we're already gearing up for winter.  I'm pretty sure we came down the mountain to avoid such weather.  Sigh.  At least the weather is supposed to warm back up quickly and by the weekend it will be in the 70s again.  Charlie and I are enjoying a cozy day at home.  Upon Grandpa Dietrich's request, I did take him out into the backyard to experience his first snow.

He was more interested in the taste of his coat than in what was falling down around him.  I realize he needs mittens.  They were out of stock when we went to the store last week!

We came back inside only to find that Charlie's snowsuit, a present from Grandma Fendell, was delivered last night.  It sat on our front porch all night long!  Maybe we'll make some snow angels in it this afternoon;-)

Go Cardinals!

We in the Fendell household are super excited about the Cardinals! Game one of the World Series is tonight.  Charlie is already a super fan thanks to Grandma and Grandpa who bought him his first Holliday shirt.  GO CARDINALS!

3 Month Pictures

A couple weeks ago Charlie had his three month pictures professionally taken.  He has been so smiley lately that I was a little disappointed that the photographer didn't capture more smiles.  Alas, the pics are still pretty cute. Here are a few.  Enjoy:-)

Pumpkin Festival

Ever since volunteering at Chatfield Botanic Gardens Pumpkin Festival a few years ago, I've envisioned going as a family.  Finally, this past weekend, we were able to make it happen.  Unfortunately the only family pic was taken on Rick's iphone, but we did get a couple of shots of our little monkey.  He wasn't as enthusiastic as I was about the proposition of dressing up as a monkey and searching for pumpkins.  It was his nap time after all!

Lucky Charm

This weekend we went for a hike to look at the Aspen trees.  It took us six years, but we finally picked the perfect weekend.  Normally we're either too early and none of the trees have started to change or we're too late and we end up hiking amongst the dead leaves.  But Charlie must have been our lucky charm because this year we did it right!  And boy was the hour drive worth it.
